George Magnan (d. 1985), was an internationally known editor of two hightech industrial arts publications, headquartered in California. In addition, in the 1950's and 60's, he headed the technical arts department for Hughes Aircraft Company's missile division in Tucson. A detail-oriented artist on his "day" job, George would take off, when he could, down back roads through Arizona and southern California, viewing isolated ranch houses, small Indian villages, and ruins of the past - and when he had a chance, translate these to canvas. |
